Here’s why you’re really feeling confused and uncertain

Judith · June 18, 2020 ·

Whether you see this time as the post-pandemic-new-normal or the great awakening, the stage has been set. The next 6 months of 2020 marks the end of dress rehearsals for every single one of us who works with intuition, energy and Source toward individual and collective upliftment.

We have some amazing energy supporting us to take our work into the world to help others.

Even though you may already sense or know this, you may still feel confused, uncertain and blocked by fear, self-doubt or self-destructive impulses.

You know you have unique gifts to help, and sense this is your perfect time, and yet you feel it might pass you by because the inner work you normally turn to isn’t helping much at all.

Take a breath. It’s okay. You’re on the right track.

Here’s what’s going on:

First off, Earth herself has fully aligned into 5D energy.

What does that have to do with you? It’s a super high frequency that you do not have experience holding. You have years of experience holding 3D energy and will, by habit and conditioning, naturally try to live from that place.

But here’s the deal, 3D energy is all about duality, scarcity and separation and that reality has played out. Every time you revert to behaviors and thoughts that are founded on scarcity or duality, you’re going to feel confused, anxious, doubting, and like you’ve lost your sense of worth.

So realize, none of us knows how to fully stay in the 5D energy of compassion and love all the time. We are learning. Give yourself a break.

What you can do to help yourself is to get better at listening to your intuition and following it. Review what you do on a daily basis that pulls you out of connection to your inner wisdom, or where you revert to old thinking. Then re-arrange your life so that doesn’t happen. Just this one thing will help immensely.

Next, the pandemic was our gift. Here’s how:

It takes 21 days to create a new habit. Most of us have had over 2 months of broken habits due to the global response to the virus. Just about everything in our days was adjusted in some way by the self-isolation and wide-spread shutdown – from grocery shopping to travel to eating out.

As a result, every single person has fundamentally altered their core beliefs.

Core beliefs are the beliefs you have constructed that directly relate to your perceived survival – and I mean survival at a physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual level.

And no one has been aware that they were re-wiring their core beliefs.

(If you want to understand core beliefs, I wrote about it here )

When core beliefs are altered you create transformational change. Period.

You have, while you were in lockdown, quite literally been re-writing your core beliefs and didn’t know it. Everything that you believed about survival has changed. And it’s changed globally, so the collective energy has changed too.

What you’re feeling right now is what it feels like to figure out who you are now. You mentally think you are the same person you were before March 15th, but at your very core you are not. It’s not possible, your subconscious has changed.

Give yourself some judgement-free time to figure out who you are now.

The lunar eclipse at the beginning of the month was on the theme of endings. That energy is affecting all of us for the next 6 months.

So just imagine, here we are globally opening the doors for people to go out and get back to their life, and the energy is about endings. Can you sense how confusing that feels?

If you are doing your own inner work, and since you are reading this I know you are, then you have all the tools to work through the endings that are relevant for you.

My sense is that all of us who are feeling the pull to share our gifts to help others are actually working on endings related to old 3D beliefs. Things like ‘I have to work hard to be successful’ or ‘This is how it was in the past, so that’s what I’ll get in the future.’

Remember, thoughts and beliefs related to scarcity, separation and duality have served their purpose and are complete. Do your best to notice your thoughts and make sure they are supporting ease, positivity and expanded possibilities.

______

This is A LOT. A lot of energy, a lot of change and a lot of possibilities.

And what’s so beautiful about it is that it is ALL supporting us to attain and accomplish what we want.

It might feel murky, foggy and uncomfortable but now that you can see what’s playing out, you can use it to reach your clarity, move through your changes and create with greater ease than you have before.

What will you create with this boundless potential that is available for you now?

How to navigate the first-quarter 2020 energy for your business

Judith · January 16, 2020 ·

Has the entry to the 2020 year felt intense to you? It has for me.

This last weekend felt a bit like a dam broke and the current is flowing super strong, almost like there’s all this energy backed up that just needs to flood out. It can feel a bit overwhelming, like it’s hard to gain balance and control.

I was so happy to have a few days as the new year opened to feel into the energy of 2020 and I’m really liking it. (If you’d like to watch, here’s the video I made on this topic.)

Here’s what I’m feeling:

2020 is all about creating stability.
Think of the 4 legs on a chair. That kind of stability. Maybe it will look like foundations for you. Or maybe it will be about structure through rhythm or regularity.

The energy is really, really smooth.
And it has a constancy to it. Last year was a creative energy so the feeling was more about ups and downs and swirls. This year’s energy’s more like a steady stream that may have areas where it rushes hard but generally will flow steadily.

First-quarter 2020 feels like it’s game on for creating deliberately with 5D-higher consciousness energy.
If you aren’t familiar with 5D, just think of it as a time of creating with feelings as opposed to actions. Also, outcomes will happen faster – both desirable and undesirable. Of course we have to take action, but it’s going to be much more obvious to us this year the way our creations are a product of our feelings.

First-quarter 2020 is ‘waiting’ for you to set the stage before it reveals what’s in store for the rest of the year.
As I was putting plans in place for myself and my clients, I really wasn’t able to feel past April. The energy didn’t vanish so much as feel unavailable. To me, that means that setting our intent and backing it with even the smallest of actions is pivotal. Very literally, what you intend is forming the constellation of possibilities that will show up come April.

Even if you aren’t a gardener, think of your business as a garden. Consider its shape and what seeds you want to plant before the Spring Equinox. You have some time to reflect on what you want. You have some time to begin practicing actions that honor you and the wants you have.

Seeds in your business can be as simple as putting a date on the calendar for when you will offer a program and setting a tentative price. Or it can be sending an email to 10 past clients to invite them to some dream project you’ve been stalling on – even if you don’t have all of the details yet for the program. Or it can be committing to a schedule – like every new moon – you make a video or send a message to your list. Or it can be updating your backend systems.

The point is that what you do does not need tons of planning, or thought, or doing. It’s a simple thing that aligns with your desire and feels good.

Here’s a good question to ask yourself as you sort through which action to take: On March 19, when the equinox energies come in, what will I wish I had started on?

May you have a blessed 2020!

What the October energies are bringing us

Judith · October 15, 2019 ·

There’s something about this time of year that draws me in – into myself for reflection and contemplation – in a way that spring and summer don’t.

The cooling temps and the full-settled-in of kids at school. But also the faster-seeming slide toward the end of the year.

This year there’s more to it.

Astrology has given me a bit of a clue as to the nature of what feels like such a clearly different tone to the energy.

I’m feeling an unexpected increase in anticipation and excitement. I’m looking forward to the digging around in what is, and casting off and clearing out what isn’t in alignment.

It’s a feeling of getting ready for an adventure. You know, that feeling of getting ready for a big vacation to a new place? Planning for the new clothes or shoes and clearing responsibilities off the list.

This is so much more than normal, fall season, end-of-year clearing and reflection. There is that too. Only if this time were a tidal pull it would be three times stronger.

We are experiencing the first waves of truly sustained transformational change at foundational and systemic levels like we haven’t felt before. This is life-altering, society re-making change.

If you’ve been on the graduate level self-awareness journey for the last 10-15 years you may be wondering whether it will be more of what was. Because those years were hard – I know, but this is different.

You are ready for this new wave of energy. In fact, it’s what you were preparing for.

Over the next year, it’s your time – and mine – to get comfortable with the speed of the energy. It’s time to get really good at feeling good. It’s time to get really good at allowing what you do want in your life.

Unlearn your habits of putting your wants second, of dwelling on the past, and of making choices aimed at minimizing (or avoiding) fear.

I say this because you have been the one holding the energy to support the full influx of ascension energies. You have been the one making the way for this time.

And because of that, you are now the one who will show others how to live in the transformation, even as you discover how in the living of it.

The change that the planet Pluto brings us will go on for the rest of our lives. And we’ve been getting ready for it. I know we’ve also been getting ourselves ready to support and show the way for others who are waking up now. (And if you’d like support getting your business up to speed for this, that’s what I do in this engagement.)

Here’s what I encourage you to do right now:

Use the rest of the month for what we’ve been given with this Mercury Retrograde.

  • Finish up leftover things.
  • Consider projects and activities that have been stewing or on auto-pilot. Design and redesign them or begin to transition them out.
  • Put things in place as supports or reserves.
  • Spend some time getting clear on what you’re going to add into your life in the form of more play.

Mercury Retrograde will be supporting you in all of this so use it.

And then get ready for the solstice. Mark that day as the beginning of your new year. I have the feeling that it really will be.

Why traditional planning doesn’t work for Soul led businesses and what to try instead

Judith · May 11, 2019 ·

For years now I’ve found that I’ve not really been able to plan. Not in the traditional way.

I’d sit down to map out a plan toward whatever I most wanted, like a new offering or more clients or even an editorial calendar, and it just wouldn’t flow.

Either I couldn’t get to clarity, like the ideas wouldn’t flow. Or I’d put together a rocking plan that went nowhere. As in either, I didn’t have the follow-through or life things just seemed to get in the way of making that plan work.

So I’d pretty much decided that living from my Soul was unpredictable. I couldn’t get to feeling consistently focused, clear or directed toward an outcome I wanted.

I just figured I needed to let it go and accept this as the new normal… until these last few days.

I think I’ve just figured out why planning doesn’t work for me. And, if you have some of the same challenges with planning, maybe this is the reason for you too.

______

My number one priority is to stay aligned with my Soul so I really look to my Soul to lead the way. That is a non-negotiable for me.

Lately, I’ve been putting together a new way of being organized. It’s been very organic and not something I set out to do, it just seemed to begin to fall into place.

One of those pieces was setting out plans toward some goals. If you’ve followed me on Facebook you may have seen me sharing a bit about The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington.

There is a lot about that book that is super traditional thinking about planning. Make a vision. Create goals that are SMART – specific, measurable, achievable/attainable, relevant and time-bound. Make the tactics to get there and then measure your performance.

What was different was the authors’ recommendation to treat 12 weeks as a year and to take on only 1-3 goals. It encourages you to get super focused and put your energy into each week as though it was a month and then suggests how to map your time each week to make the best of the time you do have.

This felt good to me and I listened internally for what to focus on and wrote out my 3 goals.

And then I started thinking about how this could be helpful for my clients. As soon as I started to explain it to them I realized that I was holding a number of different assumptions that are completely different from traditional planning.

Here’s what I realized:

When you’re Soul led, you accept that there is a Wisdom at work that is greater than you. That means that when you want something, it is already created and your Soul calls you to it. It is then up to you to align with what you want and allow it into creation.

Traditional goal setting work assumes you do not have what you want so you must work to get it or create it. And in most cases, we are taught to believe that there is a right or better way to get to a desired goal or outcome.

So in effect, SMART goals essentially reinforce the belief that you do not have something and that you have to perform (correctly) to earn or achieve them. And then each time you measure your performance toward the goal you can judge yourself as successful, failing or needs improvement.

This is absolutely contrary to Soul wisdom. You do not need to earn, or perform, to have what you want. And there isn’t one, correct way to reach your desire.

All of that helped me realize that when you are working in a Soul led way, you are listening to your Soul for which actions are in right-alignment to support your growth beyond your ability to plan.

Traditional planning assumes that growth is linear. Soul led growth is synchronistic and dynamic.

We know this is true when we are in flow and things just seem to magically fall into place. Or when time seems to stop. And who hasn’t slipped into envy when we see someone who seems to effortlessly have all the right opportunities line up for them? Just another example of Soul alignment.

So let’s take a traditional SMART goal as an example and see how things fall apart.

Let’s say you set a goal to create an extra $XXXX of income.

This is something you’ve really wanted but haven’t figured out how to make it happen. It is specific, measurable, relevant and time-bound.

You want to believe it’s attainable – after all, with Soul backing you, everything is attainable.

Here are all the things you are inadvertently telling yourself when you take on this goal:

  • You do not have what you want. So you are reinforcing having more of the absence of what you want.
  • Your actions will make it happen. (So you are not working with your Soul.)
  • There is this one way that you’ve mapped to get there, so you’ve introduced control, constraint, and conditions.
  • To have what you want, you have to work harder or do more.
  • Each time you measure your performance or results, you are judging your ability, worth, and your deservability.
  • When you do reach your goal, you’ve taught yourself the conditions it takes to get what you want – hard work, control, earning, deserving.
  • When you do not reach your goal, you doubt yourself, your connection to Soul, your deservability and judge your worth.

When I look at goal setting and planning from this perspective, I can easily understand why it didn’t feel good. Every one of those bullet points is contrary to what it is to be Soul led. Since my intention is alignment with my Soul, it makes sense that this way was not supporting me because it went against that intention.

And if you feel similarly, it may not be supporting you.

Here’s what I’ve found that has been working for me:

Make your goal an accomplishment or new habit that is foundational to the bigger picture of what you want.

For example, if you want to grow your income look for a system, process or habit you can put in place that will support you in growth that also feels good to you. This will very likely be something you know you need to be doing but have been putting off like blogging or emailing regularly, automating your billing or finances, or cleaning something up in your personal life.

Select a feeling goal that informs all other goals you make.

For example, if you made a goal to clean up your finances knowing that you are creating more income, what feeling will you have that more money will give you? Is it freedom, security, ease? Find yours and write it right next to the ‘clean up your finances’ goal so that you remember that each time you work on your finances you are creating more freedom.

Make your measurements more about tracking rather than performance.

You want to keep track of whether you put attention to the system, process or habit and how often, like tracking how many glasses of water you drink.

Make sure that what you are tracking is not making you feel bad at the end of the day or month. Instead, it should help you see growth, and support consistency and momentum.

Log what you appreciate or are grateful for each day of the 12 weeks, or goal period, to stay focused on what you do have.

I find that goals that support me in creating momentum, consistency and continuity are more expansive and really lean into supporting a deeper relationship with my Soul.

I’d love to know what you think of perspective on planning.

What is your most effective way of planning in alignment with your Soul?

A return to real… re-embracing joy and ease

Judith · September 18, 2018 ·

I’ve just received an email from someone I follow online about how they’re shifting down, refocusing, turning within and going back to the things they did when they just started out.

And this is number two. As in the second to share a similar message within the last couple of months.

These are people who’ve been actively present and growing businesses online for over a decade.

I’d say they are successful, honest and very much about doing business their way with focus on good business.

And I’m really struck by how they are going back to their beginnings.

Simpler. Less-markety. Less-climby.

And I wonder what to make of it – this ‘return to real.’

*****

A few months ago I wrote about the value that one-on-one businesses have and don’t fully own or embrace. That true, deep, human connection that is part and parcel of their work.

This has been affirmed for me over the last few weeks as I began working with my Leverage Mentorship participants. Their 1:1 personal connection with their clients, their community and their gift is where all their value sits.

And their ability to see it and use it in their own unique way – without veering off into what should be or what others are doing – is where they find the greatest rewards and greatest results.

Interestingly the work we are doing together is simple, non-markety and non-climby.

It’s really all about creating the growth they want, with ease and joy. Setting aside the ‘musts’ and the frustration and self-judgement.

Which is, I believe, what these business leaders are re-embracing. Ease and joy in their work and day-to-day living.

*****

I wonder if what there is to make of the ‘return to real’ is that the lures being offered for six-figure incomes, 4 hour work weeks or anytime-vacations are more traps than destinations.

Because in truth there’s a way to set your own shiny desire as the destination so that rather than lure you in you are magnetized toward your own delicious fulfillment.
