What does it look like to use a Mercury Retrograde time productively?

I've just completed a Mercury Retrograde Bus-Dev Mini-Session and wanted to share it with you to give you an idea of how a personal session might be helpful for you.
CB was ready to launch her new website for her coaching practice. It's a big step for her - both for her practice and for the visibility. She had concerns about how to launch it and do it right - especially since she wanted to get it done this week.
Generally during a Mercury Retrograde time, you do not want to launch new businesses or products. The time is best used for planning, completions, research and preparation. So, right now is not a good time to launch a site. What we found after reviewing her site and considering her particular circumstances was that there is plenty of prep work that she needs to do to launch her site properly.  During our thirty minute session I recommended the following items for her:

 • You can take your site live - after you make a few adjustments - just do not LAUNCH it out into the world in a public way. Use this time to get feedback from a small handful of people you respect and adjust based on that feedback.
 • Most importantly, get a link up for people to sign up for your newsletter or blog posts. I suggested Constant Contact as a good place to get started.
 • Get your social links linked to the active accounts. Decide if you want to use your personal Facebook or start a business Page. There is no need for a Twitter link at this time if you are not an active user.
 • Adjust your 'About Me' nav bar and content. Your About Me page is generally your most visited page. If your industry prefers to read a more formal bio then add in a more personal welcome message in your voice that shares your passion.
 • Use the next few weeks to get into the habit of regular blog posts.
 • Get ready for your launch. Get an enewsletter drafted. Pull in your lists.
 • Spend some very dedicated time defining your customer. Get personal with that definition and build a list of what you want to share with them. That list builds the foundation for your newsletters and blog posts.
 • Absolutely double check with your programmer to make sure you have Google Analytics working and your blog feed set up.

This may sound like a lot of technical details but they are the finishing touches she needed to address to make the most of a true website launch. And the perfect things to be done at this time - meaning they should go smoothly and without any glitches. And just knowing what to do helped her feel unstuck and got her moving with purpose and determination. She is already a great relationship builder and was to see how her website will enhance those relationships.

Special note to my astrologer friends: I know that strictly speaking you do NOT generally take a site live during a Mercury Retrograde. But given this particular situation, there was very little difference between live and not live. If she had regular followers and active traffic my recommendation would have been quite different.  The critical element for her to hold off on was her public announcement so that it would be released at the best possible time for her message to be heard and received.
